Ryan, Milo, and I went up to Alaska for a few months this summer for Ryan to sell. It was absolutely amazing. So hold on for more pictures than anyone would probably want to see.
Out of the three of us, I think Milo definitely loved it the most. I worked from home up there so he had me to himself 24/7. Which meant long daily walks through the awesome wilderness up there along all the trails.

| Trying to get a good shot of him while he's frolicking in the woods is difficult |
| The river right behind where we lived |
| Beaver dam |
| Field where Milo learned to play fetch |
| He loved chasing squirrels until they climbed the tree, then he'd just be mad |
. Alaska was the best place to train Milo how to be off a leash and still stay by me. He got pretty amazing by the end- never really leaving my side. He also never was wanting for a friend because EVERYONE has a dog in Alaska.
WHITTIER
Our first little outing was to go to Whittier. It's this beautiful little town (if you can call it that, it's more like a round-about) on the coast. We even saw a whale!!!... okay, not everyone. Ryan and Kalli were in the bathroom when the whale made it's appearance so they missed out. :(

| We ate at this amazing little seafood shack |

| Samantha, Koy, Kalli, and Tyler deciding on dinner |
| Cool worker who gave Ryan and I a TON of peppermint patties for a $1! |
| Loved the harbor |
| Glacier... it's cold if you can't tell |
| Ryan was able to capture how amazingly blue the water was |
| Fresh water spring just on the side of the road |
| Where the whale was... just wasn't actually able to get the whale |
RYAN'S BIRTHDAY
I always kinda hate how we're always gone for his birthday. But this year it happened to be a lot more fun than usual.
| We started with going to breakfast at Snow City- basically the yummiest place in Anchorage |
| Ryan got some kind of salmon and halibut puffy thingys |
| I got this amazing french toast stuffed with orange cream cheesy stuff and raspberry butter! |
| So Ryan, Kalli, and Jesse's birthday are all on the same day. So we had a little party when they got off work |
I also got him the Nike shoes he's been dying for, so it ended up being as good of a day as you can get while still knocking doors.
The ZOO
Us girls went to the Alaska Zoo and seriously, we weren't disappointed. Seriously, just look at the polar bear pictures. It was like they were posing for the camera...
| Look how close to us they were! |
| We may or may not have feed them candy to get them to all come over |

Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge
Oh my goodness, I was so so excited to take Ryan back to where I worked 5 years ago. Can you believe I'm that old? It was such a weird feeling to be at a place you called home for so long and not have it be home. Everything looked the same, but I didn't know a single employee there. Talk about turn over. Everywhere we went I was just wishing that Kaitlin and Cynthia would walk around the corner and meet up with Gorgeous and Vanya. I even caught myself trying to spy on the bell-boys. (Our favorite past time when we worked there.)

| Had to get a California Caribou and sit in the same place I did 5 years ago |
| Me five years ago... glad I figured the hair issues out. |
Ok, I'm tired so that's all for now... to be continued.
Wow, I loved the lush green picts when you were walking. The kids say your hair in the last picture is "creepy." Haha. I like the curls personally. I loved reading about your adventure!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the 5 yr pictures. So fun! I'm glad you guys are home though.
ReplyDeleteAh!AH! AHHHHHHH!! My old building!! All those familiar sights! This was CRA-ZY! I'm so jealous you got to go back and see everything again! I LOVE that comparison in the last two pictures. So great!
