Halloween 2012

Halloween was so stinkin fun this year. So many fun things were going on that day. But of course, I procrastinated making our costumes until the night before so I was up til 2:30 making them. The lack of sleep definitely was worth it though when I saw Ryan's face the next morning! He absolutely LOVED his costume and said it was the best one he's ever had. (That's sayin something for those of you who have seen his Peter Pan costume). They did turn out pretty cute, even though the mask drove me crazy.

First, we helped put on the Trunk-or Treat in our ward. Ryan's a YMs leader and I'm in YWs, so since the youth was putting it on we got to help set up the cupcake walk, fishing station, and other games. Ryan even decorated our car with some police caution tape. So many people showed up that we ran out of candy in an hour. Oops, guess we know to bring more next year.

After the Trunk-or-treat we headed over to our friends the Riches to see there cool set of Neverland. They had everything- Skull rock, the Lost Boys Tree house, Captain Hook's ship, the crocodile, etc. It was amazing.

Then we headed back to our house for a Halloween party we had. Faith & Bryce (our downstairs renters) and us had a party so we opened up the entire house. It was such a fun night. I definitely want a little Pinterest happy. Here's some of the fun treats.

We had a lot of people show up for the party, our poor little house was pretty crowded. I wish I had got pictures of everyone. For those of you who I didn't get a picture of I'm sorry. We had some seriously great costumes. Even Milo dressed up!

Ryan was so excited to take a picture of him eating Pizza. It's a Turtle thing

LAGOON

October 28th is my mom's birthday, so we decided to celebrate it by going to Frightmares at Lagoon! I was so excited to go, I hadn't been to Lagoon since high school and it was calling my name. We couldn't have picked a better day to go, it was beautiful weather and for the first part of the morning it was not crowded at all so we walked on to all the fun roller-coasters. Unfortunately Zach and Ryan couldn't join us because of work and school. They were missed. I'm proud to say that I'm still brave enough to go on the big coasters, however I have found that I get motion-sickness with the twirly rides. Sad day, must be getting old.

Later that night we went back to the Parental's and had cake and ice cream for my mommy. I'm so glad we were able to have such a fun day together. Happy Birthday Mom.

Quarter of a Century!

I've hit it, I'm now a quarter of a century! I remember when I used to think that was super old. Now I'm thinking it's still very young. I had such a great birthday. Get ready for picture over-load.

That morning Ryan and I got to take the youth to the Draper temple to do baptisms. I can't think of a better way to spend your birthday than in the temple. The Draper temple is such a pretty little temple.

That morning Ryan made me breakfast and I got a ton of fun gifts from people. Mom Vance had left a package of goodies for me, my work got me some gift cards and cupcakes, and my sweet neighbor gave me some jewelry.

After the temple Ryan took me on a hike. We hiked up Battle Creek Canyon. I had never been there before and it was gorgeous with all the changing leaves. Milo and Pumpkin loved getting out and exploring.

That night my sweet friends threw my an 80s-themed birthday party. They are amazing- they had everyone decked out in 80s apparel, a rubix-cube cake, and all sorts of 80s goodies. The table looked amazing and the decorations were fantastic. I seriously felt so spoiled, even Baby Jack dressed up for me! (Apparently my costume wasn't up to par so they had me put on a shirt that could probably fit Ryan and me in it.)

The next day my family also had a little party and gave me tons of wonderful presents. I seriously was so spoiled! Thanks to everyone who made my birthday such a special one. I'll leave you with this slightly embarrassing but hilarious video of myself, Stacy, Chelsie, and Zach dancing to "This is Halloween." :)

Our Second Anniversary

I cannot believe that it's been two years since this day....
Time has just flown by, however Ryan and I feel like we've been married for forever. The last two years have been quite an adventure. In the last two years we have done so much:

-Went on a cruise
-Moved into our first apartment, then moved out of said apartment
-Moved to Mississippi
-Bought our duplex
-Fixed up our duplex
-Got our sweet puppy Milo
-Moved to Alaska
-Ryan got into the Accounting Program at BYU
-Carissa served as Relief Society teacher, nursery leader, and now YW's Secretary
-Ryan served as Stake YMs Sports coordinator, Scout Master, and now Priest quorum advisor.
-Carissa became the Director of the Compliance Department at work
-Ryan went skydiving
-Etc, etc

That day we both planned a few little surprises for each other.
Ryan got me some new pans. Especially cute because he got me red ones to match my kitchen :)

I left this little note on our bed and got him some dress shirts he's been needing for accouting

To celebrate our actual anniversary we only had time to go to dinner (seeing that it was a Tuesday so I had work and Ryan had school.) PF Chang's was super fun. I LOVE their lettuce wraps.

For the weekend we were able to get away for a little while to Park City. And the drive alone was amazing with all the amazing colors in the canyon right not. First we spoiled ourselves with a couples massage! Heavenly. After 15 minutes of talking Ryan into going to get Indian food (he absolutely loves Indian food because of his mission, but he wasn't convinced that I would like it--I'm a tad picky) we went to Passage to India. Holy Cow was it amazing. Seriously, I've really come around to Indian food.

He was a happy boy

Then for the rest of the weekend we seriously just shopped to our hearts content at the outlets. We got some amazing deals. I took a picture of a few of the things I got-

The Outlets
We are going to do this every year on our anniversary

Really happy about the king-sized bed
It was such a fun weekend. We read all the goals we had set on our last anniversary. Most of them were accomplished, a few we'll have to still work on. It was so nice to be able to just spend time together talking. Can't wait for the next two years.
