Yuba Trip 2014

Ryan and I have started an unintentional tradition of going to Yuba every year. We really love heading down to that lake because you can reserve parts of the sandy beach all to yourselves- it's heavenly. This year we decided to invite a bunch of friends from our ward. We were super stoked for it, however the beginning because a bit of a fiasco. First, the day before we were heading for Yuba we found out there were some serious problems with the engine of our boat. Luckily Ryan's buddy Kirtley was willing to come with his boat, that saved the day. But after making our way to the southeast side of the lake, we were informed that the dock close to our campground was no longer in service because the water was so low. Argh. So we had to drive 45 min around to the other side of the lake and boat in all our camping gear.... not ideal. However, after a bit of a bumpy start the rest of the trip was super fun. Saturday the weather couldn't have been more perfect. The water was glass most of the day. We ended up having a TON of people come play and 3 boats, our waverunners, 2 kayaks, and 2 paddle boards. So there was plenty for everyone to do and play. I believe most of us left a bit sunburnt but it was a fun couple of days playing in the water and camping! I have also learned a lot about what not to do next year. :)

(Of course, I got BARELY any pictures. I'm so mad at myself. But here's the few I did get).
Beautiful Yuba and only an hour away!
Cute Emerson was always happy to play in the sand.

Nellie Kathleen Pratt

Samantha got her first cousin on August 14th! Nellie Kathleen Pratt came into the world at 3:01pm weighing 6 lbs 15 oz and 19.5 inches long. She's a tiny, fair skinned, blue-eyed, reddish blond baby- so she looks totally foreign to me. haha, Samantha and Nellie will definitely never be mistaken as sisters, but hopefully they will be the best of friends only being 7 months apart! Here's some of the fun photos of them meeting each other for the first time.

Daddy had to hold Samantha's hands back... she doesn't quite understand "soft" yet

Aunt Carissa is in love!

Nellie just memorizing my face
Congrats Chelsie and Brian, she's an absolute doll! I'm sure we will be chasing our two girls around everywhere before we know it.

Brown's Cabin

We are lucky enough to be friends with the Browns who invited us up to their cabin to play... not once, but twice this summer! It really was incredible getting together and basically relaxing with friends. It is hilarious how much our group dynamic has changed with the arrival of all our little ones. Now when we get together we are working around all sorts of nap times and baby needs. I can't express how nice it is that so many of us are going through the same experiences so we can all relate. And yes, some of our conversations now revolve around poop consistencies, breastfeeding tips, and sleep deprivation. However, we still have tons of fun as you can see....

Thinking so hard
Playing at the lake
Throwing grapes at Justin.
Jill's reaction to throwing grapes
There were so many sheep all over the roads, and they weren't wanting us to get through
Our baby daddies
There was plenty of Nintendo 64 playing
