So here's the low-down on how everything went down. First of all, you all need to understand that I had "phantom pregnancy" all the time before I got pregnant. Because I have this fun thing called IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and yes, it's as lovely as it sounds. I would get sick often from it and because of that I would always have this fear in the back of my mind that I was pregnant, so I'd check and I never was. Well... a few days (ok it might have been a little longer, but seriously it wasn't long) after we started trying I told Ryan that I thought I was pregnant, but because I thought it was just me working in up in my head I decided to wait a week before taking a pregnancy test. I don't think I lasted the entire week though because the night of Ryan's birthday we decided I'd check... Positive. What the?! I didn't believe it so I had to take 2 more.... Positive, positive. Ahhhhh! I know we had decided to try but I just never thought it would happen so fast that even though I had 3 sticks telling me I was, both Ryan and I had a hard time excepting it. Need proof, here's our faces....

| Surprised, mortified, scared, and possibly slightly nauseous |
The next few weeks after we slowly started going into denial. We would talk about me being pregnant, then it turned into "if" I was pregnant, and finally became more "doubt" we are actually pregnant. Reality sunk in for me quickly after I started experiencing the nausea, lack of energy, etc, etc. For Ryan, it didn't become real until I had gone to the doctors and they showed me the flicker of the heartbeat on the ultrasound-- undeniable proof that we indeed had a little peanut inside of me.
The next few months consisted of me going to work, coming home and getting into my PJs and bed immediately. Repeat the next day, and so on. And yes, I did watch all 9 seasons of the Office in the process. Fortunately, once I hit my 2nd trimester I've felt so much better and can now handle life again. I will catch you up on the fun things we have done this summer now that I can include all the fun parts of telling people we are pregnant! I'm pretty behind, so forgive the constant blogging that will follow.
